I’m drawn to mysterious objects, a consequence of their mystery is that there is little I can tell you about them. This beautiful hammer formed copper dish is another case in point. Hammered by hand and repousséd, meaning the pattern is worked with punches from both front and back. As to whom is being depicted is another mystery, possibly Buddha, but I’ve never seen Buddha depicted like this before.
