£57.00

Superb example of large sized mirrored glass Witches Ball with lustrous silver mercury glass

(190mm high, and a diameter of 180mm)

If you were to stumble upon this piece in an antique shop, most would assume it was Victorian mercury glass. This witches ball is handmade and contemporary, with all the unique imperfections that you get with an individually made piece. The glass is quite heavy - very sturdy, beautiful handcrafted piece.

A witches ball is a hollow sphere of glass. Witches balls were hung in cottage windows in 17th- and 18th-century England to ward off evil spirits. They were particularly popular in the villages of East and West Sussex.
