‘The Tree within the Hill’ - Silver Gelatin on Mirror

£377.00

Approx 53cm high by 42cm wide.

Silver Gelatin print of a black and white photograph of hollow tree on a hill between Westbury-sub-Mendip and Wookey Hole. Created in the darkroom of Dimbola on the Isle of Wight by Syd Buron.

The conclusion of a very complicated darkroom procedure, with a limited success rate, this piece was one of the last to be created at Dimbola, and perhaps the most detailed. There are world of possibilities with regards to perceiving the image in the mirror. It was the piece that visitors stared at most in the exhibition, and everyone I spoke to saw something different.

This piece was part of Syd’s ‘Light Bends in Imaginary Gardens’ exhibition at Dimbola Museum and Galleries, for more information about this exhibition, please click here.
